The wildebeest great migration in Tanzania consist vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, moving across Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Serengeti National Park and Masai Mara. The migration consist over 1.5 wildebeest, zebra and gazelle moving in circle searching for water and pasture while accompanied by predators and vultures.
This is a unique largest terrestrial wildlife migration in the world driven by rainfall patterns from Ndutu area in Ngorongoro Conservation Area herding to Serengeti National Park then Masai Mara before returning back to Ndutu Area in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for calving season. Hence from Late December the migration arrive Ndutu Area ready for calving season during February to April then begin to move to Serengeti National Park from May to September before crossing Mara river to reach Masai Mara then begin to move toward south to reach Ndutu in Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
