Climb Kilimanjaro 7 Days Machame Route the whisky route with great scenic, camping adventure and among the high success rate trail in Kilimanjaro. The trek begin at Machame gate meet your guide, cook, porters and all the camping equipment’s include tents, sleeping bag, food staffs etc. After arrangements of luggage’s and registration begin to climb the mountain to reach Machame Camp.
Day 1: Arusha to Machame Gate (1,790m) then Machame Camp (3,010m)
Drive from Arusha to Moshi then proceed to Machame gate. Arrive Machame gate at lunch hour, meet your climbing crew and finalize registration ready to begin the trekking through dense rain forest vegetation.
Day 2: Machame Camp (3,010m) to Shira Camp (3,845m)
Day two trek begin with slightly steep to reach Shira camp. The surrounding characterized by moorland vegetation cover and a volcanic cone of shira plateau..
Day 3: Shira Camp (3,845m) to Barranco Camp (3,960m)
A hike lead you to reach almost 4,600m best for acclimatization before descending valleys to reach Barranco camp.
Day 4: Barranco Camp (3,960m) to Karanga Camp (3,963m)
After breakfast starts descending the barranco wall a huge ravine. After finalizing to climb Barranco wall proceed to Karanga valley with steep climb to reach Karanga camp nestled at 3,963m for Dinner and Overnight.
Day 5: Karanga Camp (3,960m) to Barafu Camp (4,640m)
Day five climb to reach Barafu camp. At Barafu camp have enough time to relax and enjoy lunch and dinner for the preparation of mid night summit to Uhuru peak.
Day 6: Barafu Camp (4,640m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) then Mweka Camp (3,100m)
At midnight around 1 am begin the final journey to reach Uhuru peak 5,895m. This final step is among challenging moment physically and even mentally due to altitude, low oxygen and steep rocks. Gaiters and poles are become important at this stage to support you through going up and descending due to loose gravel and glacier. Approach Stella point around 5 am then proceed to Uhuru Peak taking almost 1 hour. At Uhuru peak you can enjoy sunrise and taking pictures before beginning to descend to Barafu Camp for breakfast and lunch then proceed down to Mweka camp for the final night at Kilimanjaro.
Day 7: Mweka Camp (3,100m) to Mweka Gate (1,630m)
Final day to Kilimanjaro begin by having a breakfast then descend to Mweka gate. At Mweka gate we stop for final formalities and collection of certificate before transfer to Arusha for dinner and overnight.
